Final Progress Check Documents
Before an ECAC student pilot is able to proceed to their private pilot practical test, it is a mandatory requirement to complete a final progress check with a flight instructor other than their own, to ensure their readiness and safety.
The final progress check primer document provides information that you will need to know for the oral portion of the stage check. This information is critical for you to know not only for the stage check but also to ensure you are prepared for the private pilot practical test.
The final progress check must be scheduled on the ECAC Aero Calendar ahead of time, with the assigned CFI who will conduct the progress check.
The assigned CFI will use conduct the stage check using the currently published Student Pilot Pre-Solo Stage Check Form.
The final progress check consists of a:
- Ground portion (2 hours booking with CFI)
- Flight portion (3 hours booking with CFI and suitable aircraft)
The Student Pilot Pre-Final Stage Check Form covers the required knowledge, areas of operations and flight proficiency required during the final progress check.
Work through the document in order and check off the items listed as they are satisfactorily completed and make any notes of areas that you identify where additional training is recommended.
The progress check will proceed in the following order:
